More Pictures

It was another great night at The Wizard of Oz. David ended up taking more pictures tonight. The lighting was better due to the fact that the professional videographer was there to do his job. Several scenes were dark on purpose and they used different colored lighting for effect so it was hard to get some pictures. But tonight he was able to get more shots from the awesome tornado scene. McKenzie's contemporary ballet class was apart of that scene. They used this cool black fabric and would pop up out of it. It's hard to explain but it was neat in person. Enjoy the pictures!

The Wizard of Oz

McKenzie's dance studio, Charisma Dance Company, put on their Spring Production of The Wizard of Oz on Thursday and they'll do it again Friday night.  It was the best dance program that I've seen!  It was so much more enjoyable watching an actual show instead of just a bunch of different groups dancing to a song.  Here are some pictures from their first performance.

Wordless Wednesday

Matt's Choir and Baseball

Betty said I haven't put any pictures of Matt in his baseball uniform on here yet.  So here goes!  We are the Red Sox and we won the Frankie Bailey Tournament but we haven't had as much success in the regular season.  We're 3-5, but still probably within spittin' distance of first since everybody seems to be beating up on each other.  Here are a few pics.

Matt throws left-handed and bats right-handed....except when he decides, "Hey, I think I want to bat left-handed like Dah this time!".  This was one of those times.  He did get a hit, though!

Here's a video of Matt's preschool choir singing in the Spring musical.

Happy Birthday Grand!

Today (Saturday) is Grand's 81st birthday!  Grand is such a great dad and grand-dad.  He was always the one we would holler for when we were sick growing up.  Well, he was the one I would holler for - Andy never got sick.  Until just a few years ago he had not thrown up since 1978.  I'm sure your day is better for knowing that!  Back to Dad.  He always was willing to take us out to play ball or do whatever we needed.  He has continued to do that for the grandkids - breaking ice in his hands for Cassie, sitting in the floor and feeding ice cream to Caleb, pushing McKenzie around in a wheelbarrow, or playing with Matt on their playset.  Thanks for being such a great Dad and Grand! We love you!!!

Elementary Idol

On Monday McKenzie performed in her school's talent show.  They had a show at 8:30 and 12:30 during school and then a show at 7:00 that night for the parents.  McKenzie danced to "One of Those Days" by Joy Williams.  She did a great job and there was a lot of good talent on display!  Here are some pictures and a video of McKenzie.

32 Years...

Matt's teacher, Mrs. Cecelia Granholm is retiring at the end of this school year. She has been teaching 32 years! I did my student teaching in first grade and can remember getting to know Cecelia during that time. She was a kindergarten teacher then too and I thought to myself that if I ever had a child she is the kindergarten teacher I would request. Little did I know eighteen years later she would teach my son.  She is an excellent teacher, creative and really motivates these kids to learn. This year has been such a blessing. I am sad that she is leaving and Matt won't get to have her in the first grade since this is a multi-age classroom, but I am sure they will put a great teacher in her place. Friday we had a little surprise retirement celebration for her. It was a great party and the children were actually able to keep it a secret. We all gave money for a gift for her. It was a pretty initial platter that she had been wanting. Mrs. Ross our assistant put together a little scrapbook made by the kids. It was really cute! I know Mrs. Ross was exhausted because she had taken care of every detail!  Another mother made the cake. Not only was it really cute but delicious, too. A fun time was had by all! Here are a few pictures I took with my phone.
