McKenzie Dancing!

McKenzie's dance studio, Charisma Dance Co., had a Christmas Bazaar Saturday and each dance class performed a song during the day.  Since it wasn't really a recital and none of the family got to see it, here are videos of her three performances.  Great job, McKenzie!

Itta Bena Homecoming

This past Sunday was another homecoming celebration at our old church in Itta Bena.  Itta Bena's homecoming is something we look forward to and really enjoy every time.  It's always so great to see old friends and show my family where I grew up.  And the food is always incredible!  This year was no different.  Jan's cousin, Steve Burton, was the guest preacher and did a great job.  After the worship service we ate a wonderful meal in the family life center.  Here are some pictures from the fun day of worship, food, and fellowship.

Halloween Fun

Halloween was a lot of fun this year! McKenzie decided she was too old to dress up and go trick or treating but we still have Matt! I asked him a few weeks ago what he wanted to dress up as for Halloween and he said he wanted to be a Ninja again like last year. So that is what we did. We hung out at the house for awhile and the kids gave out candy. That is their favorite part. I love our neighborhood because it is perfect for this holiday! We had the cutest little dressed up kids come by our house. About dark we took Matt trick or treating and he was so happy to add to his already growing candy collection from school. We came back to the house to hand out more candy and David and McKenzie went to the Grenada vs. South Panola football game. It was an exciting game in that Grenada was ahead most of the game which was not expected against this team who is always the best in the state. Grenada ended up losing but it was a great game. Here are a few pictures from the night!

Halloween Party

A few of McKenzie's friends had a Halloween party last weekend. It was a really cute party and fun for everyone to dress up and hang out together. McKenzie and her friend Haley decided that they wanted to do a theme together and dress up. McKenzie looked on Costume Supercenter and found  Alice in Wonderland costumes. Haley was Alice and McKenzie went as the Mad Hatter. The girls got ready at our house, then on to the party. Here is a picture of them all grown up and looking cute!

Happy Halloween!

I wanted to share a few pictures of my Halloween stuff. I am using most of the same things that I have been using for the past few years. I do try to change it up a bit.

Bought this cute bat wreath at Walgreens last year after Halloween half off. I noticed the other day that they have brought them back this year so they are available if you want one. I added the bow to it and hung it by the back door.

To the front porch, I added a cornstalk, mums, a scarecrow and big Jack o lantern. The scarecrow I have had for years. I am using the wreath that I had made a couple of years ago. Love that I get to use some of these things  year after year.

Love decorating my mailbox!

Containers for fall....I planted pansies, violas and ivy. I'm going to add some ornamental cabbage to my pots, just waiting for Walmart to get some in.  I love these multi colored mums this year. I chose the orange/purple variety.

Lastly, a few pictures of things I did inside...Happy Halloween!

The Entertainers

McKenzie made the Grenada Middle School show choir, The Entertainers, this year and they had their first show Thursday night.  The theme of the show was "The Beat Goes On".  I have a short video below of one of the songs they sang, "You Can't Stop The Beat".  McKenzie and all of the kids did a great job!

Betty did a post of her fall decorations earlier today so be sure and scroll down to see that after you watch the video.

Fall

Fall is my favorite time of year. There are so many things to love about fall. One of my favorite things is decorating for it. I have put away everything that is summer and replaced with fall things. The first thing I did was get a new doormat from Target for the back door. That combined with these rust colored mums and a pretty wreath I already had made a fresh look for the season. For our mailbox I used an iron scarecrow. It's hard to see in the picture but it's there! I took the summer cushions off the furniture and replaced with a couple of fall pillows.

Now for the inside, I use the same decorations each year but try to find new ways to use them. I bought these cute little owls at Dollar Tree to tuck in different places. In my Peter's pottery bowl,
I used some acorns I recently found on a trip to Michael's and a couple of felt pumpkins from Target dollar section. I will use this bowl all the way to Thanksgiving. Another favorite thing of mine is getting fall magazines in the mail. Makes for great reading in the carpool line at the schools!

I have not used my fall garland in a few years but decided to use it this year. I tucked a few pumpkins and owls here and there.

Hot chocolate time and my pretty mugs!

Ok this picture has nothing to do with fall but it cracks me up. This particular day Matt got on purple and got to pick a prize out of the treasure chest in his class. He picked this gross set of teeth. David picked him up that day and he couldn't wait to run to David and smile big. Life with boys! I love it!

Happy fall decorating!
