Birthday Fun

I know I say it all the time but I can't believe my baby is 7!  He had a great birthday and was so excited about it. We kicked off birthday week by meeting Nana and Grand in Winona at Woody's for supper. On his actual day, Tuesday, I took a cupcake cake to enjoy with his class. It was a cute Batman cake.  After school, family dropped by to give him birthday gifts.  Matt was so excited that he had enough money and gift cards from family to buy that new bike he has had his eye on at Walmart.  Thank you family! We decided this year instead of a party to get him a gift that he had been wanting, an Xbox game system. Nana and Grand and Mimi and Pop gave him games to play for the Xbox. We also took him to Incredible Pizza on Friday. David was off so we made a fun day of it going to one of Matt's favorite places and a little shopping.  Here are a few pictures from last week...

Happy Birthday Matt!

Tuesday is Matt's 7th birthday!  Matt is so excited about his birthday and is looking forward to Betty taking cupcakes to school for his class to have a little party.  Here's my traditional birthday video to Phillips, Craig, and Dean's song "I Want To Be Just Like You".

Happy Birthday Matt!

What a Difference Six Months Makes!

McKenzie's 6th Grade Band concert was Tuesday night.  It is amazing how much they have improved from their first concert last semester!  Here's a short video of McKenzie's favorite song that they played called "Crazy Clock".

Happy Easter

Easter is just a couple of weeks away. I decided to put a few things out around the house. I'm not really into doing much decorating around this time because I don't like mixing pastel spring colors with the color scheme of our house. So I try to keep it neutral. Sometimes less is more! I used the bunny door decoration that I already had for the front door.

I used my Peter's pottery that reminds me of Easter in a couple of different places.

Found this grapevine rabbit at Home Goods a few weeks ago...

I love to put out seasonal things on the coffee table. I used my pair of bunnies and bowl of the painted Easter eggs we have collected since McKenzie and Matt were babies.

By the backdoor, I used an egg wreath...

Happy Easter!

Easter Eggs

The kids' Easter eggs came today. I ordered them back at the end of January from Old Tyme Commissary in Jackson.  I always order from them each year. I think they turned out so cute! For McKenzie, I had the artist paint a girl bunny with a clarinet. This is her first year to play, so I thought it would be a cute idea.  Anyone who knows Matt, knows that he is really into dressing up for church. He calls it his suit but he wears a navy blazer, shirt and tie and khakis to church now. I think he wants to be like his daddy and dress up. So for his egg I asked him would you like a Power Ranger bunny or a bunny dressed up for church? He chose the bunny with the blazer and khakis. It also turned out cute! These eggs are some of my favorite things that I have collected for McKenzie and Matt.

Here are our 2013 eggs....
