New Shutters

Today has been a very productive day. We started the day off by getting our new shutters hung on our house. Grand and Mr. Glenn (aka Matt's train buddy) drove from Eupora to hang them for us. We think they did a great job! A little later in the morning Nana and Mr. Glenn's wife, Gale, came to visit with us and check on the progress and offer supervision ha! We had a great visit then to show our appreciation for the hard work, we all went to eat lunch at 333. Here are a few before and after pictures that David took for me.
 Before and After....
Notice on the last one our shutter dogs. I think that is the weirdest name for them but I do love how they dress up the shutters. I have been looking everywhere for these and finally found some online at Hardware Source.com.  David doesn't know it yet, but my next project is a new mailbox! I thought maybe I would ask for that for my "40" birthday! I think I deserve it ha! I would really like a copper mailbox on a black iron post. I think it would look cute with the house. The search is on...

Later this afternoon me, McKenzie and Matt went shopping for necessities and snacks for our beach trip coming up this weekend. We are going to Gulf Shores, AL and we are very excited. Every day we check the daily beach update on GulfShores.com and things still look good on the beach. I hope it stays that way for us. We have looked forward to this all year so we are going anyway despite the oil spill. We will post pictures on our blog while we are there. I can't wait for beach pictures of the kids. I just hope we can get near the water. I guess our favorite thing to do while we are there is EAT!! I am especially looking forward to going back for brunch at  Tacky Jack's to eat shrimp and grits! We are also planning on seeing Toy Story 3. I have heard alot of good things about that movie, so we can't wait to see it. We will be back soon with pictures!
